Terms of Service
Effective: September 21, 2026
iOS users: StepMind is licensed under Apple's Standard End User License Agreement. These service terms supplement that agreement for use of StepMind's online features; where they conflict, Apple's Standard EULA controls for the iOS app.
1. Agreement and eligibility
These terms govern your use of StepMind, operated by VivaThinking. By using the service, you agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy. You must be at least 13 and old enough under local law to consent to an online service independently. If you are a minor or below the local age of independent consent, use StepMind only with permission from a parent or legal guardian.
2. Educational service
StepMind recognizes photographed math, physics, and chemistry problems and uses AI to provide questions, hints, explanations, and learning records. It is a study aid, not a teacher, examination authority, or source of guaranteed answers.
3. AI limitations and academic integrity
AI output may be incomplete, outdated, or incorrect. Check important results against textbooks, instructors, or other reliable sources. Do not use StepMind to cheat, evade examination rules, submit AI work as your own, or make safety-critical decisions.
4. Your content
You retain ownership of content you upload. You grant us a limited, worldwide license to host, copy, transmit, process, and display that content only as needed to operate, secure, support, and improve the StepMind service as described in the Privacy Policy. Upload only content you are allowed to use, and avoid unnecessary personal information.
5. Accounts
You may use an anonymous account or optionally link Apple or Google for cross-device access. Keep access credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. You can permanently delete your account and associated active-system data from the app.
6. Acceptable use
You may not misuse the service, interfere with its operation, probe or bypass security, access another person's data, automate abusive traffic, reverse engineer where prohibited, upload unlawful or harmful content, or infringe intellectual-property or privacy rights.
7. Availability and changes
We may update, suspend, limit, or discontinue features to maintain security, comply with law, or improve the product. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, compatibility with every device, or preservation of data after you delete your account.
8. Intellectual property
StepMind's software, interface, branding, prompts, and original materials belong to VivaThinking or its licensors. These terms do not transfer ownership of the service to you.
9. Disclaimers and liability
To the extent permitted by law, StepMind is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. VivaThinking is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive losses arising from use of the service. Nothing here excludes rights or liability that cannot legally be excluded.
10. Termination
You may stop using StepMind or delete your account at any time. We may restrict access for material violations, abuse, legal requirements, or threats to users or the service. Provisions that by nature should survive termination will remain effective.
11. Changes and contact
